Advanced EMF

The course provides an in-depth examination of various topics related to EMF modeling.

Participants will have the opportunity to apply theoretical content in many practical exercises.

Course outline:

• Duration 2 days of classroom lessons, of which at least 50% in a workshop format
• Audience Java Developers, Project Managers, tools developers and Eclipse RCP plugins developers
• Prerequisites Knowledge of the fundamentals of EMF, knowledge of Java development and of Design Patterns

  • Management of persistence to Relational Database (Teneo)
  • Using CDO (Connected Data Objects) as distributed Data Model Repository
  • Advanced persistence to heterogeneous legacy systems (Relational Database, Service-Oriented Architectures, AS/400, CICS, etc…)
  • Transactionality and integration with Eclipse through EMF Resources
  • EMF Graphics Tools: GEF, GMF, Grafiti
  • Domain Specific Languages con Xtext
  • Analysis of the main frameworks for the maintenance of the EMF model: Compare, Query e Validation
